The CAPSI-Mastercard project invites African youth to participate in a research initiative focused on dignified employment for marginalized youth in 17 African countries. This five-year project aims to explore the opportunities and knowledge arising from the Mastercard Foundation’s Young Africa Works Strategy. We value the input of African youth in shaping the research and ensuring its relevance and impact. We seek insights, opinions, and suggestions on key project aspects such as inclusion criteria and research methodologies, acknowledging the diverse experiences and aspirations of African youth.
The project has three main objectives. Firstly, it aims to gather data and knowledge on the effectiveness of non-profit organizations in creating decent employment opportunities for young people. Secondly, it aims to train doctoral fellows from African universities in disciplines related to youth employment, empowering them to become experts in impactful research. Lastly, the project aims to generate sustainable knowledge and provide a digital hub for connecting young Africans with dignified employment. We will be organizing a webinar in June to foster discussion and collaboration. We look forward to hearing your insights and suggestions to ensure the project is inclusive, representative, and impactful.
